• Starting the Game
  • Select anywhere on the loading screen to bring up the welcome screen.
  • Select the START button on the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • The upper right corner of the welcome screen has buttons to control game sounds, restart level, and go to the level select screen.

  • Desktop
    • Moving
      • Press the A key or the left arrow key to move left.
      • Press the D key or the right arrow key to move right.
      • Press the W key or the up arrow key to move up.
      • Press the S key or the down arrow key to move down.
    • Linking boxes
      • Press the mouse left click button on a box to link it.
      • Press the mouse right click button on a box to delink just that box (while keeping the magic tied to the other box).
      • Press the spacebar to remove magic from both boxes.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • This game was designed for play on desktop computing devices with an attached keyboard.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper right corner has buttons for sound control, restarting current level, and returning to the level select screen.
    • Magic infused crates have 3 bright rectangles on their face.
    • Activated switches show a bright red line near them, whereas switches that are not active have a more dull color on the wire.
    • The level select screen shows unlocked levels using brown crates & locked levels with gray crates.

  • Basics
    • This game is like a standard Sokoban game with a couple variations.
      • Sokoban similarities
        • You can only push boxes. You can not pull them.
        • If there are 2 boxes in a row you can not push the set.
      • Sokoban differences
        • This game has 3 different types of crates.
        • Crates of the same type can be linked by magic, which allows you to move a second box of the same type when pushing the first crate.
        • Rather than stacking all boxes in specific positions on the playing field your goal is to clear a path to the exit. Creating such a path may require activating or deactivating switches, and it may also require you to build bridges using some of the metal crates.
    • Switches
      • Some switches can temporarily stay active by you standing on them until you through an adjacent door, though most switches require a crate to be placed to hold the switches in position.
      • On most stages you are typically activating switches by placing crates on them, however there are a few stages where you open doors by deactivating switches when you remove crates which were on them.
      • On some stages you have to activate many switches at the same time to open a particular door.
      • When a crate is over a switch to activate it you can link that crate up with another crate using magic & use one crate to move the other, and can then put the crate back into position on the switch.
    • Using magic
      • Use your mouse cursor to select a box and then left click to apply a magic orb to it.
      • If you know you want to remove magic from both boxes you can use the spacebar to remove magic.
      • If you only want to delink one box and know you will want to relink it with magic again shortly you can use the mouse right click to delink it while leaving the other box linked, so that you only have to add magic back to one box to link the set.
        • Many movements require you to move a square or two at a time, delink, push the box you are moving back into position near where you started, add magic, and repeat the process again.
        • You can only move a set of boxes in a particular direction if the next square in that direction is open for both boxes.
    • Crate types
      • All 3 crate types can be pushed onto switches to hold their positions.
      • The silver and gold crates can be pushed into lava to create a bridge which you can push wooden crates across.
      • Wooden crates may not touch lava directly or they burn up.
  • Levels
    • This game has 20 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by making it to the level exit. Doing this may require clearing away boxes, activating switches, deactivating switches, and/or pushing metal crates into lava to build bridges.
      • You lose if you fall into the lava. If you die you restart the level you were playing at the beginning of the stage. This game offers unlimited continues.
      • You can get stuck if you push a crate into the wall or accidentally push a needed crate into the lava. If you get stuck you can press the level restart button in the upper right corner.
  • Tips
    • Be careful not to push crates against the walls or into corners unless you either know you won’t need to use them again, or know you have another crate you can link with them to move them away from the walls and corners.
    • Take your time and move a square at a time when you are on the later & more complex levels. Sometimes a single extra move will ruin the ability to make a needed future move.
    • On level 15 it is crucial to use the mouse right click to disconnect the top gold crate rather than using the spacebar. If you use the spacebar you won’t be able to install a magic orb back on the lower gold crate.
