• Starting the Game
  • Select the PLAY button on the welcome screen bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • Underneath the PLAY button are options to turn music on or off, turn sound on or off, and turn mobile controls on or off.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Firegirl
      • Move left by pressing the left arrow key.
      • Move right by pressing the right arrow key.
      • Jump by pressing the up arrow key.
    • Waterboy
      • Move left by pressing the A key.
      • Move right by pressing the D key.
      • Move up by pressing the W key.
    • On desktop you can play one character at a time and switch, move both characters at the same time (if you are ambidextrous), or play with a friend who controls the second character while you control the first.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • On the main menu of the welcome screen you have to turn mobile controls on.
    • The move left and move right buttons are in the lower left corner of the screen.
    • The lower right corner of the screen has buttons for changing between Firegirl and Waterboy (the button color is that of the inactive player) and a jump button underneath the character switch button.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The top center of the screen has a timer.
    • The upper right corner of the screen has a pause button. When the game is paused you can turn sound or music off, resume play, restart the current level, or go back to the welcome screen.
    • The level select screen shows completed levels in green.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • This is a room escape game where you play as characters of fire and water.
      • The water character must collect all the blue gems, must avoid lava, and exits through the blue door.
      • The fire character must collect all the red gems, must avoid water, and exits through the red door.
      • Both characters must avoid the touching the toxic green liquid.
  • Game features
    • Boxes – can be stood on or used to jump to a higher platform.
      • Can also be used to jump across lava or water, where the second character of that element can push the box.
      • You can place boxes on switches to leave them activated.
      • You can drop boxes with other boxes positioned underneath them to create a stairway or ladder type structure, which you can then push across the screen.
    • Fans – can blow your characters up or down.
      • On some stages you need to repeatedly turn them on or off to move around & get both characters to collect their gems and make it to their respective exits.
    • Switches – can be used to turn fans on or off, or to reposition gates.
      • These deactivate when you move away from them.
      • You can place a box over a switch to leave it activated.
    • Levers – can be used to turn fans on or off, or to reposition gates.
      • These retain the state you left them in until you revisit them again.
    • Gates – can be operated by either switches or levers.
      • On some stages you keep having to go back and forth between both characters to operate levels and repeatedly reposition gates.
  • Levels
    • This game has 20 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time by selecting them on the level select screen.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by collecting all the gems & positioning each character in front of the correct exit.
      • You lose a level by running into the green liquid.
      • This game offers unlimited continues, starting you at the beginning of the failed level.
      • If you make an error with the order you operate levers or knock over a stack of boxes you can get stuck.
  • Tips
    • Since the game does not have a time limit take time to survey the level before making your initial moves.
    • Some levels require a lot of back and forths.
      • Anticipate them and try not to make any move commitments that you can’t undo.
      • If you make a mistake pause the game and play again.
    • Boxes
      • It is easy to drop boxes downward, but it is hard to stack them or move them up unless you intend to and plan in advance by setting one box below where another box will be dropped onto. Some levels require you to stack boxes atop of each other to be able to make higher jumps.
      • Boxes may also be needed in multiple locations on a level, for instance helping a character move across a long pool of the wrong liquid type & holding down a switch.
      • Be sure not to place boxes in a location you can’t move them from unless that is their final location or there is another box you can use for other purposes.
