Game Play
Basic rules
Drop the nuts, bolts, or washers (“pieces”) down the play area.
The game shows you both the current piece, which is on the top of the play area and next piece, which appears on the top center menu.
The pieces will all fall in the spot your mouse or fingers are hovering. The dashed vertical line will show you where your piece will fall.
The game will generate only the first five pieces.
Most pieces will roll around a bit when you drop them.
Hexagonal pieces will stay in place once dropped unless nudged.
Round pieces will roll around for awhile and eventually stop
Merge identical pieces together to form larger pieces.
Keep merging pieces together until they form the largest piece.
The largest pieces, when merged, disappear.
When the stack of pieces reaches the top of the screen, it’s game over.
On the bottom of the message box on the game over screen are the following buttons:
Gem button (left)
Play button (center): Starts a new game
Question mark button (right)
Scoring
You earn points from every piece you drop. The value depends on the size of the piece.
The first piece that’s dropped, which is done automatically, will not give you any points.
The smallest piece is worth 2 points. The next largest is worth 4 points, and so on.
You don’t earn any points from merging the pieces together.
You can compare your latest and best scores on the game over screen.
Tips
The dashed vertical line is your friend. Use it to carefully drop the pieces exactly where you want them to go.
Wait until everything stops moving before dropping more pieces in. This will reduce the chances of things moving out of alignment before you drop them in.
Try to keep the largest pieces at the center and the smaller pieces in the sides.
Don’t let smaller pieces get in the way of the bigger ones.
Placing smaller pieces on the sides is useful to keep them out of the way if you can’t merge them.
Think two moves ahead.
You will always see the next piece you’ll be dropping. Find a spot for this piece as well as the one you’re about to drop early on.
This will help you plan out where and how the pieces would merge with little room for error.
